Modern Strides In Chiropractic Health

Jaime Allen

Whether you're coping with neck and shoulder pain or extremely serious back pain, a chiropractor can be an excellent benefit. These doctors specialize in helping people better deal with these kinds of pains, and they can help adjust your spine to reduce or even eliminate back pain altogether. New technology is helping chiropractors better diagnose various issues so they can help determine the best course of treatment. Read on to find out more about a few new tools your chiropractor may be using to help you.

3D Scans

New, three-dimensional programs can scan your body and tell your chiropractor how your body weight is distributed as well as how much of that weight is impacting your feet. It can also see how much weight your feet are bearing in terms of pressure. This is important since a large majority of back pain is due to wearing improper shoes, being on your feet all day, or it can even be a result of how you walk. These images can also scan your body to take a better look at your posture. Once the chiropractor assesses this, they can give you more helpful advice as to how to correct it.

Electrical Impulses

Another new technique that many chiropractors are using now is applying small electrical impulses to the body as you move. These impulses take a reading of your movements and can help the chiropractor visualize how you function. It then allows them to show you where you can make changes as well as explain how these movements might be causing some of your pain. The images produced will help your chiropractor determine which muscles are most deeply affected and how to treat your issues in a more precise specific way to help hone in on the problem areas.

Handheld Systems

Smaller-sized devices that can help patients include a wand-like instrument that the chiropractor will slowly run over a patient's spine. As the wand progresses down the spine, it produces detailed imagery of the back including the surrounding muscles and the bones. When your chiropractor sees these images on a monitor, they can then press a button that sends waves into the affected areas, helping with relief. This handheld system can also help patients dealing with issues like sciatica, restless leg syndrome, and even more common issues like headaches, insomnia, and fatigues. Thanks to these new strides, chiropractors can be even more effective at helping patients overcome their pain.
